Everyday, parents deal with issues and problems that are unique to raising children. The demands and stresses of family life and work can put an incredible amount of pressure on families. No family has been left untouched, regardless of social and financial status.

 

Families Count is a parenting-support group that began in the spring of 2004 hosting Parent Information events addressing some of these issues. It has also sponsored the Family Resource Fair that hosts organizations that offer their services to Lakeside Academy and the community.

A Message from Families Count!

"Get really plugged in with your children.

Talk to them on a daily basis. Always ask questions and keep an on-going dialogue with them.

Find out what's going on in their lives...most importantly, listen to them.

Start now - Know where your kids are, who they are with, and what they are doing.

Show interest in their lives.

More than anything, kids want parents to be involved in their lives.

They may not say it, they may not show it, and they may even argue against it.

It's really hard growing up in today's world.

Money and things do not replace parents.

The most precious and valuable gifts you can give your children are your love, your care, and your time.

They need you!"
