CEGEP NATURAL SCIENCE (Sometimes separated into PURE & APPLIED and HEALTH)
Students who wish to go into SCIENCE PROGRAMS at University must take SCIENCE at CEGEP, and specific Science courses at High School.COMMERCE (is actually Social Science with some compulsory courses added)High School Courses Needed to Enter a Science Program at CEGEP:
(For grads of 2009-2010 and later ) Math 5 Technical & Scientific or Math 5 Science.GEGEP Courses Required to enter Various Science Programs at University:
Chemistry 5. Physics 5.
Math NYA, NYB, NYC. Chemistry NYB, NYA, (Chem NYC). Physics NYA, NYB, NYC. Biology NYA.A Student who completes all of the above, and graduates from CEGEP, may apply to virtually any university program, but also specifically for such science programs as:(eg.) Acturial Science. Agriculture. Architecture. Audiology. Biology. Chemistry. Computer Science. Dentristy. Dietetics. Engineering. Exercise Science. Forestry. Health Education. Math. Medicine. Nursing. Occupational Therapy. Pharmacy. Physiotherapy. Physics. Psychology. Veterinary Medicine.
A student who wishes to study Commerce at university may apply from any CEGEP program, but must have taken specific courses at CEGEP.SOCIAL SCIENCE.These Courses Must be Taken in High School:
Math 5 Technical & Scientific or Math 5 ScienceThese Courses Must be Taken at CEGEP:Math 103. 203. 105. (Economics 920 and 921). (A computer Science course).A student who wishes to study the below-listed programs at University is fairly flexible. He/she can apply to several programs at CEGEP. Please note that each provides some specialization at the CEGEP level, but most students can arrange to leave the door open to a variety of University programs.Note also that there can be some hidden University pre-requisites. For a more accurate listing, please contact a CEGEP or University advisor.
