The process can differ. Click on your situation.

"WE ARE CANADIAN AND I OR MY SPOUSE ATTENDED AN ENGLISH SCHOOL IN CANADA."

"OUR CHILD ATTENDS SCHOOL IN QUEBEC AND HAS AN ELIGABILITY CERTIFICATE. WE LIVE IN THE LESTER B. PEARSON BOARD TERRITORY, BUT OUTSIDE OF THE LAKESIDE ACADEMY TERRITORY. WE WANT OUR
CHILD
TO GO TO LAKESIDE ACADEMY."

"OUR CHILD ATTENDS SCHOOL, IN QUEBEC, OUTSIDE OF THE LESTER B. PEARSON BOARD TERRITORY. WE  WANT OUR CHILD TO GO TO LAKESIDE ACADEMY."

"I AM NEW TO THE COUNTRY."

You are welcome anytime to call and ask questions. Before we can officially register your child, however, you must call CENTRAL REGISTRATION. Their telephone number is 514-422-3000, and their address is:

The people at the board office will ask you for child's birth certificate (or baptismal), recent report cards, and your child's eligibility certificate to attend English education.  If he or she does not yet have a certificate, they will be pleased to help you obtain one.

NOTE: IF YOU ARE NOT CANADIAN CITIZENS, AND HAVE IMMIGRATED TO CANADA, YOUR CHILD MAY NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND ENGLISH SCHOOLING IN QUEBEC!  EXCEPTIONS, HOWEVER, ARE MADE FOR CHILDREN WHOSE PARENTS HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED HERE FOR A LIMITED PERIOD OF TIME BY A COMPANY OR ARE STUDYING IN QUEBEC.

If you have any questions about eligibility, call CENTRAL REGISTRATION.

Once you have done the above, you will be asked to call Lakeside Academy (514-637-2505) to make an appointment for registration.

For grade 7, 8, and 9, please ask for an appointment with Mr. David Preston.

For grade 10 and 11, please ask for an appointment with Ms. Lucy Glave.

When you come, please bring your child's Eligibilty Certificate and Birth Certificate. WE CANNOT REGISTER YOUR CHILD WITHOUT THE MOST RECENT REPORT CARD. Please call ahead to be sure someone is available to meet with you and your child..

"WE ARE CANADIAN AND I OR MY SPOUSE ATTENDED AN ENGLISH SCHOOL IN CANADA."

If you do not have an English Certificate of Eligibility, please follow the same procedure as
above. Your children WILL, however, be eligible for English education.

If it is for the next academic year, call us. (514-637-2505).

If it is part way through the school, and you are from another Lester B. Pearson Board school, then you will be asked to
contact the principal of your home school. He or she will ask your
reasons, and then give you a document to fill out.

Senior Administration will then be informed, and they may wish to discuss the move with you.

Once you have the signed document from your home school, you are welcome to call to make an appointment at Lakeside Academy. In this case, I would ask you to call Ms. Glave (grade 10, 11), or Mr Preston (grade 7, 8, 9 ). An administrator will determine if there is room at the level your child is at, and then will want to meet with you and your child. We reserve the right, when there is insufficient space in a grade or progam, to say no.

PLEASE NOTE THAT EVEN IF ALL PARTIES AGREE, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORTATION

"OUR CHILD ATTENDS SCHOOL, IN QUEBEC, OUTSIDE OF THE LESTER B. PEARSON BOARD TERRITORY. WE  WANT OUR CHILD TO GO TO LAKESIDE ACADEMY."

Please call CENTRAL REGISTRATION to begin the process. In general, you will need permission of your home school
Principal, the home board senior administration,
and the Lester B. Pearson senior administration. After all that, you will
have to call the
Principal or Vice Principal at Lakeside Academy to plead your case. We reserve the right, when there is
insufficient space in a grade or program, to say no.
