Drama is available as an option course for senior students. In the Drama program students learn the basics of acting, voice techniques, facial and body expression. Using different methods such as scripts, monologues and various improvisational games, students are encouraged to express themselves, and work collaboratively in order to create and perform dramatic works.
The annual school play is open to all students, regardless of grade level. Everyone is encouraged to be part of the full-length production, which gives students the chance to improve their acting skills, collaborate with a large team and create a work of art to be shown to the school and greater community.
The production of the musical “Hair” featured 70 of Lakeside’s hard-working and talented students. Past productions such as “Fame”, “Les Miserables” and “Rebel Without a Cause” have not only been hits but have seen several of Lakeside\s graduates go on to study and work in professional theatre.
